Bex is good at titling things.
Title:
Today whilst we were waiting for our room to be made ready for check in, we decided to grab a big lunch at International House of Pancakes (IHOP). It is conveniently located right next door and is a 24 hour diner style pancake house.
First impressions on heading in was that is was a middle of the road family restaurant. Not quite a fast food joint – none of the hustle and bustle – just spartan linoleum floor and pine lacquered benches.
A friendly waitress seated us and gave us our menus.
Bex: “You have to mention how I was in charge”
Bex was fully in charge because she’s done the whole “ordering out at an American Diner also Frosty is exhausted as hell and was struggling to string two words together”
Bex ordered drinks – Bottomless coffee and Sierra Mist Soda.
IHOP Coffee:
Pity the fool who drinks this for the taste. There was barely any effect from the caffeine but that may have been because I was so tired.
We got an appetiser platter (Chicken Strips, Onion Rings, and Mozzarella sticks) and Bex got a short stack of Buttermilk pancakes and Frosty got a 4 stack of Buttermilk pancakes with strawberries and cream on top.
Quantity of ordered food regret:
The chicken was a bit dry, but tasty (especially with the Ranch Sauce) but the pancakes were rich and filling, and both Bex and I abandoned the tail end of our meals that we had overcommitted to.
We had about 3 different waiters, but all were friendly, and the whole place was generally nice to enjoy a quiet lunch
